Left shows my final culminated photograph of my adaptation of Hans Holbein’s painting of the Ambassadors with a modern twist.This prject of adapapting was inspired but Derek Jarmens 1986 film entitled Caravagio, inwhich Derek Jarmen turns Caravagios Painting into a Biopic about his life. The idea was to make a biopic of Hans Holbeins life using his paintings, adding a modern twist in much the same way as Derek Jarmen. Each prop that was present in the original painting was exstensively researched with first hand and second hannd, to figuure out what these instruments were, what they were made out how they were used etc. Other first hand research was carried out to figure out the size of these object from the painting and translating this into real life, such programs used were Photoshop and AutoCAD. Everything seen in the film set was hand made by me and is mostle made of MDF, card, pine wood and plastic, but painted and made in such a way to mimic the material each prop was made from such as brass, oak boxwood etc.
